This is a big year for Taipei 101. The year 2012 is also the year 101 in Taiwan. Taipei has two years. The one that most everyone around the world goes by and then the one that signifies the year that the Republic of China began.

Happy New Year, MaDonna! I wonder if fireworks on New Year's will soon catch on in the US? (Or maybe they have, in the warmer regions?) I heard, but didn't see, some fireworks in our neighborhood on New Year's Eve.
